Arctic working life - a sustainable future - training


The University of Lapland offers free training on current sustainability and responsibility issues that need to be known for those working in the mining environment.

Multidisciplinary education provides work-based knowledge on sustainability and responsibility for the needs of different sectors. The training is suitable for entrepreneurs, sustainability developers, managers, experts and others interested in the subject. The training is designed as a flexible modular package that can be easily completed alongside work. You can choose the courses according to your own interests and needs.

The training is made possible by the ESF+-funded project Developing Continuous Learning: the Arctic Workplace and a Sustainable Future.

Content:

Orientation to education, study guidance - development task guidance (continuous enrolment, ongoing)

Course I: Visual and Impact Design, Art and Visual Communication 5 cr (ongoing, enrolment closed)

Course II: Arctic Nature Policy 5 cr (registration open, continuous independent study, implementation 10.3.2025-31.12.2025)

Course III: Fundamentals of Sustainable Public Procurement 2 cr (enrolment open)

Course IV: Introduction to Legal Issues of Nature Conservation 3 cr (registration open, implementation 1.9. - 30.11.2025)

Course V: Adaptation of Northern Economies to Climate Change 2-3 cr (registration open, implementation, 15.9. - 14.12.2025)

Course VI: Sustainability skills in Arctic working life 2 cr (registration open, implementation 1.9.-30.11.2025)
