A new daycare center, Hillankukka, will be completed in Ranua in 2024. The log daycare center will have space for 70 children. Next to Hillankukka is the Kanervikko daycare center, which has space for 60 children. Nature is close by at the Ranua daycare center, and marveling at the wonders of nature is an integral part of everyday life at the daycare center. The municipality of Ranua is involved in UNICEF's child-friendly municipality development work.

Hillankukka Ilveksien extended opening hours group provides early childhood education on weekdays between 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. and on weekends. Shift care is provided as needed for children who require it due to their guardians' work or studies.
