A feasibility study is launched.

The road plan for the mining road is approved. The plan envisages the construction of a road access to the mining area of about 10 km from the Rovaniemi-Ranua trunk road: about 8.5 km of road from the trunk road to the border of the mining district and 1.5 km of private road inside the mining area.

The contract for the Suhanko mine is signed. The contract is awarded by the Finnish Transport Agency.
The contractor is GRK Finland Oy.
The subcontractor is J Vainio from Kittilä.

The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency Tukes has granted Suhanko Arctic Platinum Oy an auxiliary area for the Suhanko mining district in accordance with the Mining Act. With this permit, the Suhanko mining district is granted an auxiliary mining area for the construction of an extraction tunnel pursuant to Section 19 of the Mining Act.
