Ranua is well connected by public transport. It is about an hour's drive to Rovaniemi and about two hours to Oulu.

It takes about 30 minutes (40 km) to reach the Suhanko mine from the village of Ranua, 15 minutes (15 km) from the village of Portimo and 50 minutes (60 km) from the centre of Rovaniemi.

There is a bus service between Rovaniemi and Ranua, the timetables can be found on Matkahuolto's website.

When the mine opens, there will be a commuter service to the mine. Details will be provided on this page later on.
